LightSup! is a chaotic, 1–4 player couch co-op action adventure that blends the high-energy teamwork of games like Overcooked with the strategic depth of a rogue-lite dungeon crawler. Developed by Bangkok-based BugBlio Studio and published by Red Dunes Games, the title is set in the vibrant Lumineia Kingdom, a land recently plunged into eternal night by a mysterious and malevolent eclipse.

Gameplay Mechanics and Core Loop

The central mechanic of LightSup! revolves around the Altar of Light. In this world, darkness isn’t just a visual hurdle; it is a physical threat that drains the sanity of any adventurer who wanders too far from the light. Players must stick together and protect their mobile light source to maintain their sanity and gain Virtue, a combat buff that rewards those who fight within the glow.

If the party lingers too long in the shadows, they suffer from Fear, a debuff that deals damage over time and weakens their abilities. This creates a frantic, high-stakes scramble where players must balance aggressive monster-slaying with the tactical necessity of staying near the Altar.

Rogue-lite Elements and Progression

Each expedition is a session-based run featuring randomized encounters and branching paths. After clearing rooms of enemy swarms, the party must collectively vote on their next steps:

  • Blessings: Team-wide perks and stat boosts that empower the party.
  • Curses: Nightmare challenges that increase difficulty but likely offer greater rewards.
  • Upgrades: Opportunities to find new weapons and unlock unique character traits.

The game features a cast of novice adventurers, each with distinct playstyles and abilities. Between runs, players can use collected resources to unlock permanent upgrades, new costumes, and additional characters, ensuring that even failed attempts contribute to long-term progression.

Visuals and Availability

Visually, LightSup! boasts a colorful, expressive art style designed to look playful at first glance while hiding a deeper mystery within its lore. It supports both local couch co-op and online play via Steam Remote Play Together.

Scheduled for a full release in 2026, LightSup! is coming to PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch 2. It positions itself as a friendship-testing adventure where survival depends entirely on the party’s ability to communicate, coordinate, and—most importantly—stay in the light.
