Over the history of gaming there have been many boxing games. From Punch-Out on the NES or Greatest Heavyweights on the Mega Drive / Genesis to Ready to Rumble Boxing on the Dreamcast boxing games have always been popular. So here we have Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions from the same team that released Creed: Rise to Glory VR in 2018. Without further to do let us look below to see if this will deliver a knockout blow or end up being on the canvas at the end of the fight.

From first impressions Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions looks like a non-VR version of their 2018 Creed Champions. You will notice that they have included all the characters from the Rocky franchise, so look out for the likes of Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and Apollo Creed as well as Rocky himself. At the core the game is basically an arcade-feel boxing title and those looking for more realism should look elsewhere.
One good thing is that the game is quick to pick-up and play. After about 5 to 10 minutes, you will learn the controls which is very simple and no complex button combinations are required. You have a button for heavy punch, a light punch, grapple, dodge, block, and special move. While the A.I. is ok, the opponents don’t have enough challenge in them to keep you playing after you have unlocked the roster of boxers available.
To get the most out of this title you need to use the multiplayer. While the single player mode is good, the story is basic and once everything is unlocked there is no replayability. The multiplayer is where the fun is at, as the idea of having a second player pick up a controller and jump in to start competing against the player one. This could be fun for having friends over on a Saturday night and have a gaming party.
If anyone here is a fan of the Rocky movies, then this will allow you to live out some fun. You could choose Rocky and fight against Clubber Lang or Ivan Drago. Or have a fantasy match up and have Clubber Lang take on Apollo Creed or his son Adonis. Also, there is plenty of easter eggs throughout, so if you are a massive fan of the Rocky and Creed movies then you will definitely have fun discovering them.
Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions is an interesting boxing title. You have a arcade feel, have the full licence of the Rocky franchise and something easy to pick-up and play. While there is not a big draw for single players, grab some friends and the multiplayer really saves the game. Rocky fans and arcade fighting fans will enjoy this title, even if it is slightly expensive for what the game offers in replayability and for single players.
