2022 was a great year for games and to end the year we have a game that has a lot of anime visuals. The follow-up to IceSitruuna debut title, Tower Hunter: Erza’s Trial, Fortune Hunter: Ezra’s Wheel of Fortune is a fun hack-n-slash that has gone to Steam Early Access and aims to improve on the previous title. You can check out the above video to see the gameplay and visual style of the game without revealing to much of the game for you.

Fortune Hunter: Ezra’s Wheel of Fortune uses anime-style visuals to give a great look to a fun title. The characters are adorable and in true anime fashion the girls look seductive and cute in revealing clothes and this works well. You have three playable characters and you get the option to switch between which is something that the previous title did not allow, but in reality you won’t find yourself needing to this as the combat is still simple throughout the game.
With that said there are nine boss fights and this is the time that having the three characters becomes a godsend. The end of level fights are quite difficult and you end up losing a lot of life due to the tight quarters the combat happens, so having the ability to change to the next one makes the fight a bit more even.
Being a Metroidvania style game then exploration is a must but sometimes this is broken and ends up being more of a chore. As you explore the map, the game will separate areas and these you might have to come back to later in the game and the running back and forth becomes a slight annoyance, but nothing to be a game breaker. There is a crafting and cooking element within the game and while the cooking is good and achieved by collecting resources, the crafting is not really useful as the gameplay is simple and only for weapon buffs.
With the game being in Early Access there will be a few issues that will be fixed the final version of the game. The game is fun and worthy of a purchase, especially if you played Tower Hunter: Erza’s Trial. The minor issues in the game will be fixed by the time it leaves early access and I will come back with a full review and score then to let you know of the differences.
