Not often do I review Download Content for a game but as I enjoyed the base game so much, I thought it would be fun to do. Not For Broadcast was a game that was released January 2022 and I reviewed the game and you can see my review of it by clicking here, Now just over a year on they have released DLC called Live & Spooky, which adds even for weirdness to a already strange game. So let us take a look below to see if it can stay on the air or it has to be cancelled.

Live & Spooky adds to a already fun game that this time sees a team of Paranormal investigators exploring a sound stage. It has been said that it is haunted, so along with their equipment and help from yourself things are about to get really spooky as things ramp up. If you have ever watched a paranormal show like Destination Fear or Most Haunted then you will feel like you are in an episode of one of these shows.
For the 50 plus minutes that the DLC adds it is a fun and interesting way to spend time. The game is interactive, but sadly one minor complaint is that it is not very linear. Without spoiling the game this come into play as after a point in the DLC you must decide which rooms to investigate but there are no hints, so it is luck if you choose right, and a restart if you make a mistake.
The acting is on point and like the original base game the humour is just the right amount to keep it entertaining. The main character is Michael Duran, who has to manage his team and this involves a spirt medium called Wayne De Spiritwhistle and has to decide how to portray him get the maximum appeal for the show. Your role as the broadcast suite operator is to keep the paranormal team safe by monitoring them by switching cameras, in a Night Trap way but without the voyeurism.
Coming back to the interactive side and not being linear enough, the idea to make it completely interactive was bold but slightly fell down. I think the developer’s idea was to make it replayable and that is fine but if you use a previous checkpoint, you can’t skip any of the FMV scenes, which can get slightly annoying after a while.
Final Thoughts
Not for Broadcast Live & Spooky DLC is a worthwhile purchase to add to the base game. With the same format and humour, you will enjoy it as much especially given the supernatural feel to add fun. Yes, there are a few minor quirks in the gameplay, but there is nothing that will spoil the experience. Purchase you won’t regret it.
