Autumn / Fall season is upon and the weather gets colder and nights darker earlier. Halloween is a holiday that involves trick or treating and people dressing up in costumes to scare people. So when scary titles get released during this time it always fun to play them and see if they can scare or not. So when I heard about Bones of Halloween, I was naturally curious to see what it was about, so follow me below to see more.

Something Strange in The Neighborhood
Bones of Halloween is a Halloween-based first-person shooter. There is not a lot in the way of a story here as you begin playing by your character waking up near a spooky looking castle in a forest. You immediately realise that the undead don’t want you there and begin to have to fight pumpkin skeletons that are rising to stop you. To help you in the fight you have a few weapons to help you out but the overall aim is to hold them off for as long as humanly possible before you get overrun by them and die.
You will be forgiven for thinking the idea is simple by kill the enemies, pickup what they drop, earn points and use the items dropped to buy weapons and repeat. The bad guys come in waves and after each wave you get to pick a fortune card and these can either be a good thing to help you out or a bad thing by making things a lot trickier.
You get other modes available to choose from which give you different challenges to give a little more replayability. One challenge is you got to spend money quickly and another one is you only got exploding bad guys on the stage. Visually the game looks good and the game plays as you would expect a first-person shooter to play. The sounds are appropriate for the gameplay, but my biggest issue is the game is very short hence my shorter than usual review.
Final Thoughts
Bones of Halloween is fun, short game to pick up and play over the Halloween season. There is not a lot of content to the game but for the price of £5 / €5 you really can’t expect a lot but for that price it is worth buying and having a blast over the spooky season.
